What a trip this has already been, and we’re not even 48 hours in!

Thanks to United Airlines, while we should already be preparing to head to the village in Kenya that was our intended destination this morning, we are in a hotel in Frankfurt, Germany instead. Every travel snafu has a silver lining somewhere, and this one was that my travel buddy has a best friend who just happens to live twenty minutes from the Frankfurt airport. This happy coincidence meant that, instead of wallowing in frustration over a nearly 24-hour delay, we were able to get out and enjoy an evening with great company and great food in a small town in Germany. And I got to add another stamp to my passport!

Here’s hoping that in another 24 hours, you’ll find us safe and sound on our way to Makutano, Kenya!
